The LAMI fleet consists of sail training ships... not "passenger vessels." As such, everyone is encouraged to participate in sailing the vessel.

These unique, hands-on sail training voyages are aboard one of our beautiful new square rigged Twin Brigantines...the Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson. You'll learn to "hand, reef and steer" a traditional square rigger. The program includes safety orientation and square rig seamanship training in the following areas:

- Terminology
- Sail Handling
- Helmsmanship
- Sailing Ship Maneuvers
- Square Rig Sail Theory and Trim

Participants will be split into watches and become an integral part of the crew – helping to steer, navigate and sail the vessel, and pitch in with general ship’s chores. Individual instruction in marlinspike seamanship will be provided to interested participants.
